Over the Hill Track Club Turkey Trot Thanksgiving Day,
2005 Ridgecrest, CA by Tom Rindt Around 300 people showed up on a beautiful morning for the annual
OTHTC Turkey Trot. The course is about 3-miles wandering through the desert
around Cerro Coso Community College, which makes for a nice run or walk before
stuffing our faces at the annual thanksgiving feast. It's also a great opportunity to see old friends. Every year we
see people who have moved to other areas and are back visiting family or
friends, and we enjoy catching up on what's up with them.

Race director Chris Rios gave everyone the details on the course, and we were
off.
Runners and walkers of all ages showed up -- from the speedy
runners and eventual winners to Grandma and the Grandkids.
Josh Hamilton was the overall winner of the rubber
chicken in 16:47, and Jena Fie took home the other rubber chicken for first
female, finishing in 21:11 . Many t-shirts and other "valuable" stuff was given
out from the OTHTC closet. Plus two $20 gift certificates worth.
