From Randy Klassen:
It came, it is over, and everyone finished! Times seemed to be a little slower for some, a lot slower for others.
The sun came up and out early, no clouds or rain this year, it got warm and people were heavily perspiring by the time they got out of the park!
Jo kept me going through that boring part on the bike path to Beale's and across that darn "levy". She was going strong. I told her, see you later, at the finish. I dropped off to a slower pace. Then the ensure kicked up and "out" and treated the heel blisters (again). Got through that part and started again avoiding the rattlesnakes, got to see 3 of them this year, one
real close. (Forgot to pack an extra pair of undies!) It was a lot warmer this year requiring lots of extra fluids. People all
over the sides of the trail wishing the had been drinking more. Had the girls at every aid station with the whistles and doing "their dances". The finish was still up when I got there, so I FINALLY got my jacket. A nice Patagonia Blue one with a date on it even.
All in all it was a good time...
They did give "JACKETS" to all the finishers, Patagonia light weight
wind breaker. The weather was HOT. For the first four hours the temp was
just right after ten it just seemed to get hotter. It was so hot I was
wondering when I was going to burst into flames. There were lots of studly
quivering mass of male flesh laying on the side of the trail as we went
walking by them. They either started to fast or didn't drink enough water
or both. As usual the aid stations and volunteers were great
It was a great day for the Rademacher 10 mile Ridge Run. The weather
was nice with a little breeze, but the canyons were a little hot. John
Shillings the speedster came in first overall even after going off course
and up a couple of big hills. Elaine Riendeau was the first female blazing
the course in one hour and forty minutes. Both received the coveted chocolate
Bunny award. All had fun and enjoyed the wonderful day of bonding with
running friends. A special thanks to the Pack Rat group that provided the
outstanding aid stations. Results below:
